You're not going to stem the tide no matter what you do, maybe you sleep better at night due to your efforts, but technically you're still jaywalking. To me though, that's the equivalent of standing in the street preaching calm and order in the middle of a riot. On the guilt point, you can just stop the torrent when it's done, but you ARE going to share it a little bit while you're downloading. Also available is TVersity, and a variety of DLNA endpoints (though that seems like it shouldn't bear on the problem, since that's sort of like a really long HDMI cable.right?). Or involve my wife's powerhouse Windows desktop, if that would be easier. I'm not unwilling to learn, but I'm coming from a place where I am basically your great aunt Tilly trying to "download the internet."Įdit: perhaps importantly, the laptop in question is a MacBook Pro - though I could use one of several Windows VMs if need be. More importantly, is there any legal software to even begin this process by ripping the Blu-Ray? Or am I hosed just because I could use it to distribute the rips?īear in mind that I seriously know diddly-squat about audio/video storage formats, technologies, manipulation, etc. Is there any software - free is good, (relatively) cheap is essential I'm not going to buy a $400 software package to solve this problem - that is accessible enough to someone with zero experience in mixing audio to accomplish this? So the only thing I can think of is to rip the video from the disc, then use to add the mp3 into the mix. I've got the physical drive to run a Blu-Ray through a laptop, and I can run that to the entertainment center - but that only begins to solve the first problem. There's an app that will auto-sync a RiffTrax mp3 to a DVD, but most of the movies we'd want to watch we have on Blu-Ray. Firing up the audio on my laptop while watching a Blu-Ray via the entertainment system and manually syncing the two is cumbersome to do, doesn't really support pausing (much less stopping and resuming the next day), and doesn't support ducking (dropping the volume on the movie track behind the commentary track when appropriate). As my wife and I have exhausted RiffTrax' catalog of downloadable video+riff titles, I'm trying to figure out a good way to consume their audio-only tracks.
